Bateman Ogden; Suppliers of fine cloth
Bateman Ogden supplies high quality fabrics to tailors across every continent, delivering a wide range of elegant fabrics and customer service to their clients. They specialise in fabrics and have a very close bond with the best textile mills in Yorkshire. This allows them to provide a wide range of suit fabrics.
The business started in 1881 when Mr Bateman and Mr Ogden joined forces to establish a new textile business in Bradford. Bob Collins joined the business in 1972, he was very knowledgeable in selling to the trade so Bateman Ogden started selling fine fabrics to the UK’s prestigious tailors. A year later Bob Collins was made a Director of the company.
The business moved from their Holme Top Mill to their new premises on Peckover Street in 1956, 10 years later they moved again to their new location on Church Bank and 7 years after that they moved to their new premises on Wakefield Road, from which they still operate today.
In 2004 the business continued to grow and gained their first overseas export clients. Since then the company has 15 agents worldwide and export to every continent. In 2012 Richard Lunn became the new director for the company and they supplied fabrics for the 2012 London Olympic games.
