Pitti Uomo 89
Its that time again Pitti Immagine introduces Pitti Uomo 89. An event which showcases the platform for men’s fashion and accessories. The event takes place in Florence, Italy from the 12th January till 15th January 2016.
Pitti Uomo 89 is one of the world’s leading men’s clothing trade shows and has become a very popular event for dapper gents. More than 1,200 exhibiting brands are expected at Pitti Uomo 89 including Barbuti, Drakes, Fray and many more.
The guest designer for Pitti will be Juun.J who is a Korean designer, whose creative research in menswear continues to attract the attention of the international fashion community. “It is such an honor to participate at Pitti Uomo as Guest Designer, and it carries a special meaning”, says the designer. His menswear collection will be shown for the first time in Florence and will take place on Wednesday 13th January.
The theme for this years event is Pitti Generation(s). The deputy general manager of Pitti Immagine, Agostino Poletto explained “the speed of contemporary compresses and mixes the personal time and generations, between nostalgic reflection and experimentation, in a global overcoming boundaries. So Pitti Generation(s) recounts with humor and lightness age where age is becoming more a state of mind that master, with mature men in jeans and t-shirts and beards young Victorian with a passion for vintage”.
The project designers for Pitti Uomo 89 will be Adidas Originals by White Mountaineering. This collaborative collection will show the Adidas Originals design reinterpreted through the eyes of Yosuke Aizawa, who is the man behind the Japanese menswear brand White Mountaineering. “It is a real pleasure to be able to join hands with Adidas Originals and return to Pitti Uomo again this time” says Aizawa.
“Adidas has an incredibly rich history as a brand, and with so many products and stories over the years, working on the inside you often see things in one certain way. When you collaborate with a partner you really get to see Adidas through fresh eye”, explains Nic Galway, Vice President of Global Design for Adidas Originals.
